Job Description Our Next Generation Platform team provides a foundation for Sabre product teams to enable next generation, cloud native applications. The platform gives product teams freedom to deliver new features from concept to production in days and deploy enhancements multiple times per week. It's possible because the platform that we provide solves common issues like metrics collection and analysis, log aggregation, transaction tracing and autoscaling. We utilize Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Jenkins, EFK, Kafka/Strimzi solutions deployed in AWS, Azure and on-premises. The NGP Database scrum team develops database PaaS offerings. As an engineer in our team, you’ll make meaningful contributions in building database services based on Oracle, Couchbase and other database technologies. The team is using and extending open source tools such as Ansible and Jenkins. About You With a background in database systems and development you know what it takes to design, automate and support application system deployments. With a sense of urgency, you are able to deliver high-quality solutions. You quickly learn new skills and then apply them to the problem at hand. You bring passion, enthusiasm and technical proficiencies to our team. You will be responsible for developing and testing APIs and scripts that enable applications to consume database services on-premises and in public cloud (AWS and Azure) with highly-available, fault-tolerant and scalable architecture. Responsibilities · Identifies critical use cases and selects key performance scenarios · Develops monitoring metrics · Creates and executes performance, capacity and unit testing suites for database services provisioning, maintenance and usage · Implements QA CI/CD (Jenkins) automation · Uses tools to measure, quantify and analyze the performance benchmark and recommends corrective action · Supports automation engineers in debugging and modification of scripts · Maintains documentation of test results to assist in troubleshooting and modification of software Job Requirements Experience · Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience in QA methodologies and test automation · Experience with designing, coding, and executing performance, capacity, integration, regression, functional and unit tests · Experience with version control systems · Minimum 1 year of experience working with Linux/UNIX systems Nice to have · Experience in exposing and consuming REST services · Experience in ElasticSearch, Kibana, Prometheus, Graphana · Experience with one of the Pubic Cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud Services or Azure · Experience in containerization-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift · Experience in configuration management and automation tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef Knowledge and Skills · Programming skills in one or more of following languages: Java, Python, GO, Ruby · Experience in Agile development and CI/CD, along with exposure to toolset such as Git and Jenkins · Good understanding of SQL language and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL · Good understanding of NoSQL technologies such as Couchbase or MongoDB · Knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems · Excellent communication and presentation skills We will give careful consideration to your application and review your details against the position criteria.
